What do you think of when you think Absinthe? The green fairy? Marilyn Manson who created his own brand, Mansinthe! I’ve only really tried absinthe once and it was in a bar in Singapore and they served it as a shot. Not the way to have it.

The goth waitress told us that we were only allowed a maximum of 3 drinks that night. Its just a rule. We had to start out at level 1 which had a lower level of alcohol content. When we got to level 2, we were having absinthe with 70% alcohol. There were absinthe with higher levels of wormwood – the ingredient that gave it its hallucinogen reputation. However, it does not do that, it only gives you a pleasant light headed feeling.
We were taught that Absinthe should never be set on fire! The goth waitress told us to tell anyone to $%^& off if we were told to do that. Yes….. : | I wonder how she would react to the Fishwife and Wimp.
The right way will be to pour a shot of absinthe into a glass. Set a silver spoon with holes in it on top of the glass. Place a sugar cube on top.
Drip ice cold water over the sugar cube. It will dissolve the sugar and when it drips into the absinthe, it will release the oils in it.
As the oils release, the absinthe will turn cloudy. When it is ready. It will look somewhat like this.
