Breakfast at Sayers

Due to being so darn busy, I haven’t been out of my usual location that is the city. So when my favourite brunch babe called me out to Leederville to eat, I could not say no. When I saw that she was taking me to Sayers, I was so excited. I have been wanting to eat here but for some reason never got around to doing it.

I was expecting a more classy place but I was pleasantly surprised that it was a cool place instead. Definitely a place the young like to go to because I bumped into a few of my (young) friends there.

Large mirrors, wooden tables and the sort of things I’d decorate my own home with. The staff were efficient – something I find more important than ‘friendliness’. It still took a while for food to come. Always go with good company if you expect to have to wait.

For drinks, we had the strawberry and watermelon juice. Lovely!

Everything on the menu sounded amazing.

In the end, Karin chose toasted sourdough with avocado, feta, tomatoes and a poached egg.

I chose the cumin beans with babaganoush, egg and toasted sourdough on the side. I love beans less than most people but wanted to have fibre + protein this morning. This surprised me. The beans were not mushy and there was such a variety. Butter beans and chickpeas amongst the lot! I think it would taste better with two poached eggs in it because the yolk got lost in the tomato base when I pricked it. Still, it was pretty amazing and hearty.

I will be back to try what else there is they have to offer.
