Catalano’s Cafe

The fiancĂ© is off to Sydney tonight and so I had dinner with the Lai Master. For some reason, every time I meet him for a meal, we go for Chinese. Craving a different experience, we went Italian tonight. I found Catalano over urbanspoon and made a booking. A good thing because it was crowded and there was a wait for those without booking!

Catalanos had a really warm and chilled out atmosphere. It reminded me of Te Amor in Nedlands but the food here is wayyy better.

Service was good. We were asked for our orders quickly. We decided to share a Salmone spaghetti and baby rump grilled to medium with mushroom sauce.

Salmone Spaghetti

The way the pasta was ordered was such. You pick a sauce and pick the pasta (spaghetti, fettucine and so on). Pay $3 extra if you would like the gnocchi. The salmon pasta cost around $20. It was really satisfying.

The baby rump came with chips and your choice of wedges or salad. You could also pick the sauce: Pepper, pizzaiola or mushroom. We went with Mushroom. It was yum!

We did not have to wait long for the food either and it was sooo satisfying. I only wonder how Italian girls remain so slim when their meals were so huge. Lai Master and I could share one dish and be really satisfied.

I would definitely go back. I give them 7.7/10 for impressing me despite it being so hard to. (when it comes to Italian food that is)

For dessert, Andrew and I went down Albany Highway for frozen yogurt. Cups, I think its called.

Highly recommended topping: Mochi

I had muesli and grape jelly topping. So good but I’ll have mochi next time.
